The Capital Campaign for a Safe Haven:

Hundreds of dogs in Georgia and Alabama are dumped, abandoned, or surrendered each day.
Hundreds more are euthanized in our overcrowded high-kill shelters before they even stand a chance.
So, we’re going to build a sanctuary where our community needs it most. But we need your help to do it.

You already helped us fund the land.
Now, it’s time to build the sanctuary.

Like all rescues in the southern U.S., we are constantly overwhelmed with intakes. Our area does not have any type of spay and neuter laws. Animal abuse and neglect is rampant. Our rescue accepts those with the greatest medical needs and at the highest risk of euthanasia in local shelters. These “undesirable” cats and dogs spend months in our care, meaning we are often forced to turn new intakes away. We save as many lives as possible, but we are limited by foster space without a brick-and-mortar shelter. So, our goal is to fund a sanctuary on our 11 acres of property in Harris County, GA so that the injured, elderly, terminal, and overlooked cats and dogs will always have a safe place to call home.

We’re ready to fundraise our butts off.

We are at the beginning stages of construction and are currently working with shelter architects to make a feasible plan. Our hope is to build several separate shelter buildings—including a large dog building and a cat house—in addition to the sanctuary space. This would more than quadruple the life-saving capacity we currently have as a foster-based rescue. It also creates a permanent home for the dogs that otherwise wouldn’t find a forever family.
